Blackball, a bustling wee town today...

There is a mist over the town, we have had a little rain, but just drizzle by West Coast standards, that's not stopping the bustle of wedding preparation.

Blackball is all go today in preparation for a wedding...

There is a busy bustle of friends and family of the Bride and Groom gathered in the centre of town. Marques have been erected, Pig on the spit turning, Large bin of ice arrived for the festivity beverages, wee flags around the town to show the route to be taken by the bridal party...

Many folks working together for a common goal.  this is what small town is all about...

Now all that is needed is for the misty sky to clear and some sunshine and rainbows to oversee the happy event...

Blackball is a small town on the West Coast of the South Island and is currently home to approx 300 people, and a herd of feral goats...

Blackball sits on a plateau that we like to call the "Sunshine Plateau" however this can often be liquid sunshine...the town is nestled under the Paparoa Ranges and is the start of the Creosus Crossing to Barrytown...

The town hosts 2 craft shops, Kereru Crafts situated in the Historic NZ Road Services Bus Depot, Currantly Oddfellows [home of Blackball Bling, 21st Century Kiwiana] situated in the previously named Oddfellows Hall, the Blackball Salami Company, General Store, Formerly The Blackball Hilton  historic hotel and Glassons Honey, and Blackball Workingmens Club, and a Working class history Museum.

We recently made it to the world news with some overdramatised concerns about a herd of feral goats...

Blackball is laid back and a great place to visit, and explore the local businesses, soak up the history, picnic in the park,  and mingle with the locals...there will always be some friendly cats, dogs, goats, sheep and horses to converse with...
